Boat Interior Living

Every Trader interior is handcrafted, employing the finest materials for a timeless luxury feel and a character that is both up to date and steeped in tradition. Our cabinetwork is rightly celebrated and creates a truly nautical atmosphere on board, in keeping with a true cruising yacht.

Contemporary detailing and modern fixtures complement the exquisite joinery. The Trader 42 Signature has been designed to make the most out of being afloat. In the spacious saloon, the seating has been arranged up a step and far forward – to make the most of the views on the water. Likewise, the galley is also up on the main deck so whoever is doing the cooking can also enjoy the life afloat and be part of the action on board.

Skylights flood the saloon with light, and from the generously proportioned seating you lounge and dine using the adjustable table. The galley opposite is particularly practical. Domestic appliances including a super large fridge freezer arematched with copious storage and large Corian counters. Even the TV is cunningly concealed in the woodwork.

A sliding door to the starboard deck provides great ventilation and a much easier circulation on board. It is adjacent to the optional interior helm position, which is a great help to whoever is driving. You’ll notice that everything on board seems big for a 42 footer – the seats, beds, shower stalls and the appliances.

That’s our “home from home” philosophy; everything is made as domestic as possible so that the boat is supremely comfortable and usable for extended periods afloat. The same is true on the lower deck where the guest accommodation has also been designed for comfort in two versions.

The VIP layout gives a full beam double guest cabin in the bow, with all the luxuries you would expect in a master including double wardrobes and ensuite bathroom. The alternative three cabin layout ingeniously fits in two twin cabins, the forward one being particularly generous and loaded with storage.

The Boat features a full sized bathrooms with separate heads, washer/dryer and outstanding engine room access – features that make a real difference to life on board. The master stateroom aft has long been a Trader hallmark, but it has been brought up to new levels in the 42 Signature.

The benefits of this layout are the extra space it affords to the master suite, and the privacy that comes from separating the guests away to the other end of the boat. Entered down a private stairway, the master stateroom and en-suite bathroom give a sense of space that would be generous in a much larger boat.

Not only is there a kingsize berth, but it is easy to move around. There is copious storage – hanging lockers, shelved lockers and drawers. The en-suite bathroom is fully equipped with a large stall shower and, as ever, designed with a careful eye to the details.

The suite is focused on the transom window and new side glazing which allow light and the views to flood in through an incredible 15ft2 of glass.
